I’ve had a few light loads in the past that were between 30k and 35k lbs of product, but I’ve never hauled one that light. The consignee might order it that way if they have a small holding silo.

I do a fair bit of oil also without a pump tractor. I've only loaded in Maywood once, but I brought it back to Bensalem for another driver that was out of hours to load it.

I'm really starting to think this is a pump load then, lol. Why else would they load it in a pump trailer?

I don’t know much about the pump loads. I pull those W series whiskey tanks a lot, but my product is usually juice, malt, or wine. I’ve had to prime a few with the handle on the rear, but other than that, the receiving clerks do everything for me.

It may be a customer request for that kind of trailer even if they are running their own pumps. The pump trailers have more control of the release valves.

It could just be a case of using a pump trailer because that's what's available. I know at Bensalem there is a stock pile of pump trailers because our main customer in the area only wants to use the regular sanitary trailers (this customer does their own washes) so they keep those available for that customer to use. Similar deal in Winter Haven. Large juice customer in Lakeland won't load pump trailers because they are heavier and they can't load as much product on them.

    Nashville Thanks this.

I think I did actually need the W trailer for that load because they used air pressure to unload and I'm pretty sure the non pump trailers don't have a Chicago fitting for air, but I don't remember.
