Thats the plan/hope. I just don't know how wide I need to make it at the front so he can back in more easily, and ideally how long to make it. Thats what I'm asking. I guess I didn't make that clear. Sorry!

How wide your driveway off the road needs to depends on the width of the highway the truck is turning from. If it's a skinny backroad you might 60' or more. If it's a 4 lane highway with nice wide gravel shoulders 12' might be plenty. It's hard to say.

The best way to double check this is to have a semi driver walk the road/ pad with you. He can step it off for you in a few minutes.

I would say 30 feet wide at the opening should be plenty PROVIDED the sides of the dirt road are solid. If the shoulders are at all soft, or the ditch slope steep, opt for a wider mouth as you don't want the driver's steers ending up in trouble.

You might have to make your driveway entrance wider turning in off 67. I've delivered hay up in that area and 67 is pretty narrow

I think your driveway is fine. How hard would it be to add gravel across from your proposed pad so a fella can just pull in, swing right, back in, and out?

Depends what the ditches are like along side of 67 and his drivewy.

Looks like plenty of shoulder along 67 turnin in there. Doesn't look like a big deal to me

I'd make it easier for a semi to drive straight in. Widen the entrance and turns to the barn. And make a path he can drive around and go back out.

Be easier then trying to back it in.

Your hay is probably coming in on flatbed with 10 foot spread axles which chews up tires easier then closed axle trailers. And some drivers can't back very easily.
