    The problem is/was that popular bands/shows complained that the light shows were getting more attention than the acts/bands. "Why should we perform when the audience isn't paying attention to us and only watching the light shows from the sphere."
    The place is sold out, so the acts aren't losing anything financially; just butthurt pride.

    Since you’re a local, if you know of any way to get discounts on tickets I’m all ears.

    I’ll be there in late January/February and was looking at mid week U2 tickets and they were a grand.

    Wish I could be of help. I don't go to the strip or any shows. Sorry I can't help. Maybe @Zoltan1a can help. He's been living here longer than I have and drove a tour bus here. If anyone I know of that can help, it's him.
