I have been posting quite a few questions lately and am very thankful for all the help. Problem I am having is on a trailer that is only half a year old when I am comming up to a stop and apply the brakes the peddle goes down, down, down then all of a sudden the trailer brakes grab harsh for a second then seem to function normal. Its impossible to ease in to it. Just wondering what would cause this?

Could be a wheel seal starting to leak. Not really enough to see, but just enough to contaminate the shoe and cause it to grab.

Check bobtail proportioning valve on the tractor. Also either try and hook up to someone else's trailer and see if it does it and have them hook up to yours. See if you can narrow it down to truck or trailer.

Excellent idea on the trailer swap.. Any other valves that could affect it?

There are several on the trailer. But not sure which ones would cause that. I know the one I told you because I had to change it out on mine. I would try and find out for sure that it is the trailer then if it is and it's only 6 mos old I would take it back to the dealer. Problem is some of these valves are $300 or more and would hate to throw parts at it not knowing for sure.
