We used to be able to stop and help someone and not get robbed or attacked. Not to mention we could actually repair something with what most of us carried in the sidebox. I STILL carry hoses belts, 2 tool boxes and antifreeze, oil, airline antifreeze etc I'm sure you get the picture. I simply think that it never hurts to have another tool in the tool box which is what the student is working on. This is coming from some one that doesn't own or know anything about using a GPS other than I love it when dumb-azzs take Google as the gospel and drive to the river bank with mo bridge in sight.

If it involves phone trees I can probably do without it. Sometimes when it's quiet around the office I practice problem solving that doesn't include phone trees. If I can't talk to a real living breathing human I refuse to listen to elevator music and "please press 1 for the twenty third time and maybe your head will explode and you'll go away and quit bothering us which is our main goal anyway". The only thing worse than phone trees is to finally get a human being that communicates in a high pitched hysterical monologue...and then drops your call.
