Thanks all for the well wishes And Larry its used 07 Kinghunter got it right D16 535 13sp 3.42 rears heated/massage seats. My Neighbor across from me has the same Identical truck but he got his new he came over and showed me the massage seats cause I hadnt noticed it had them and how to figure you weight going off the pressure readings from the front and rear air bags and a few other things on it. but I think I am gonna love the tri pac. This O/O thing is hard work and I havent even began working yet. Been up since 5am yesterday flew out to pick it up drove all night (it was still set at factory spec.72mph) Started loosing air pressure so I call the dealer in soiux city they told me to take it to the Volvo dealer and have them call them. Been at the local Volvo dealer all day having road speed and cruise opened all the way air leak fixed. I was thinking about signing on with land star but think I will be going with Tango Transport I will try to keep updating. But right now I am going up stair and keep my wife up snoring if she dont kick me out the bed or stuff a sock in my mouth.
Again thanks for all the well wishes and best of luck to you allalex94 Thanks this. -
Once again, Best of luck. What made you choose Tango. Many time I had thought about signing up with Landstar, but I am not sure about finding my own loads. I was leased to Crete for 8 years, and did real good with them. I hope you got you air leak fixed, I spen my day at freightliner, new Tir rod ends, and I had my truck speed turned down. I hate going crazy, 78 on the pedal and 74 on the cruise. Sometime I have no self control
Please keep us posted on who you choose, and if you like them or not.
Again, good luck and safe miles,
Larry -
Well one reason Landstar havent called taking to long and another like you said worried about finding the good loads. Coming from company driver driving day cabs going from terminal to terminal hardly ever backing to a dock just get in truck drive get out truck go to motel to almost independent O/O is a big step and I rather take small steps to independance. If it was just me it would be no problem but have to look out for the family one too many mistakes will effect them and I already made one but hopefully it will turn out alright(below)
As far as the airleak the dealer told me to find another shop to take it to the Volvo dealer replaced a leveling valve on the front axle but it didnt fix the problem. took it to another shop and the mechanic invited me under the truck to take a look at what he found. 1.Carrier bearing worn completely out shake drive shaft with hand. 2. Yoke bad. 3. Rear transmission seal leakin(not to bad a little wet). Call the dealer and he told me to go ahead and have it fixed and send him the bill. Hoping he is good on his word. Mechanic gonna keep it over the weekend and go over the whole truck
Lession 1 Never buy a truck thats been sitting for six months seals will dry out and start leaking -
Hope you make it brother. Keep us informed.
-
Wel, at least the good news is the dealer said he will pick up the bill. I hope he is one of the last honest ones, and is true to his word.
I know you know you have to get moving soon before all those payments are due.
If you have questions, ask them. Especally to who ever you lease on to. There are plenty of guys (and Gals ) on this site with many years of experience that will gladly help you out( There are still alot of Old School Guys out here).
Some one always has the answer, even if its not the one you want to hear.
So have a good weekend, and get out there and truck.

Great looking truck. I'm sure you'll love it. May it provide you many miles of smiles and $$$!!
Keep us posted! -
plum, do you have an update for us all?
-
Unless you got the dealer to send you a signed copy of his promise to pay for the fixes do not count on it. I repeat DO NOT count on it.
My brother and I got took by a dealer that was way too quick to agree to "help" with the cost of an engine overhaul on a truck we bought from him and only made it home with it. (less than 100 miles)
When the truck was done and we took him the bill he refused to pay one red cent. NOTHING towards "helping" to cover the cost of the overhaul. -
Some dealers are good for their word. The way he talked it think he will be.
