We, just very recently, had a driver put out of service for an ABS light "burning bright" that he could not extinguish at the San Jon scale. He was OOS for 10 hrs, and had to call someone to fix it there. THEN...he was the lucky reciepient of 60 days probation for an OOS violation for something that should be corrected by the shop. I also was under the impression you could run with an AMBER light burning, but apparently, the weigh master thought differently. Considering the fact that I am headed just that way, and I was here anyway, I wanted it fixed. Even though, it is not the fact that the light was burning, it IS however, the fact that the shop had the trailer ALL DAY and did not fix it. Our shop has gone to hell in a handbasket, and it doesn't look like they care.....

I guess we got through it just in time. We hit the snow though it was just beginning, saw the emergency vehicles going East. We ended up stopping at Sky City. -

Ok so last night I heard the Godfather left Cali with nothing on his mind but Tonopah and ended up not sending any pictures to a buddy. I see how it is.....
Plus Alan is really trying to avoid me, I found out yesterday he was coming across I40 so I sent him a text telling him me to and look at what he pulls off so we didn't have to meet up for lunch or dinner. He's using bad weather as an excuse.
Jarbo Thanks this. -
I'm surprised Alan isn't saying that I created the snow storm so we could avoid him yet once again. LOL OK... you both are headed East, right... and we are going West... so we're clear, eh!? Whewww... it was a close one!
JK.... to the both of you. I/we really want to meet up with ya.
Sunny in AZ at the moment!Jarbo Thanks this. -

Yes sir, I am. I was on that other site since 2002 under another name when I was looking for another job as driving wreckers was becoming hazardous to my health. I changed it to Big Blue when I got my Cummins powered Ram in 2006. As for the Big Boy combo. It's only a true Big Boy if it comes from the ORIGINAL Bobs!!! Mine was a SUPER Big Boy combo and it only cost $9.50!! Grizz was known as "Stevens Boy"
He was the first one to answer my many questions of being on the road and the rest is history. I woulda been on the road but the CHP called up and gave me a job, a job that I applied for in 1999!!!!!!!!! My heart belongs on the road, my wallet keeps me here. We'll see what happens in about 2 years when my truck is paid off and all my bills are gone.

An ABS light on IS NOT an oos violation. I know some won't do it but ask to see it in the CVSA OOS criteria. Seeing things like that happen pi$$es me off.
Just take the #### bulb out if he wants to play stupid and just say "It was a bad fuse".
We got some newbees fresh out of level 1 school. Did you know that in Ca, EVERY truck is subject to the 40' king pin rule? Neither did I.......... So I guess all the tankers, chassis, dumpers, bed buggers lowboys, etc with fixed axles are illegal, huh?? Wow, what a cash cow for the state........... Grrrrrr................. That only applies to 48' and longer you jack ###e$!!!!!!!!! I even got into it with a Sgt here last year. He came out to see a friend of mine Pete with a 300" w/b and a 48' split axle reefer. He told me that he looked a little long. I told him as long as he's on the National Network he's fine. Sarge didn't say another word.Last edited: Mar 20, 2010
