Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Got messages all over the app about no water. Not getting a shower is one thing. Not being able to drop a deuce is another. I’m sure these truck drivers we work will be very good at figuring out that problem.

 

Dropped my trailer at New Castle as scheduled this morning at 0900. As much as I was pissed off yesterday about the 2 flat tires on this trailer when I hooked to it and the 2.5 hours it took for road service to show up and give me 2 new sneakers, I couldn’t be late as I threatened, not in my DNA. As I was coming through Indy this morning, I got a call from the load planner. He wanted to know if they paid me a days layover, would I be willing to wait on a Boars Head load that will be loaded tomorrow going to Albuquerque and Scottsdale. Told them yes. So here I sit at the J in Spiceland until tomorrow. This works out perfect. I need to go food shopping and do laundry. When I left the house last week I unpacked most of my belongings to make it easy on me when the end comes.

 

Anyone hear if the year end bonus is paying next week? I thought it would pay this week, but I looked back on my checking account from last year and it paid the 3rd pay period of the month. That's next week, if we are even getting it.

 

Washing the feet right now would be ok, it’s the idea of all those people needing to drop a deuce that has me concerned. I’m glad I’m at the Flying J with running water to flush.

 

I spoke with Charlotte about it last week. All I got was a smoke screen answer along the lines of, “I don’t know”. Excuse me? You are the head of HR, you ought to know. There’s 3 reasons why I’m diligent in my plans,

1) 3 weeks vacation of $4515 paid
2) Year end mileage bonus $1244 waiting
3) Yearly 401K company match $3000 waiting
