Is this even a serious question....??
1.. you didn't know you didn't have triangles..?
2.. truck license EXPIRED...!
3.. annual dot inspection EXPIRED...!
4.. truck license plate light not working...!
5.. driving on a truck restricted road...! By your house...!
I can see why he stopped you...
And 6.. it's obvious why you got "not doing a pretrip" because obviously if you had don't any kind of pretrip EVER you would have found 1 - 3
The only question I would have as your employer is... do you know where the unemployment office is....?Lennythedriver, Gearjammin' Penguin and Iamoverit Thank this. -
He didn't even have washer fluid!

Take it straight to the boss and be honest. "I f'ed up. I got no excuses that wouldn't just be an excuse. It absolutely will not happen again."
-
Just learned from it, move on, those are chicken sh*^ violations he got you for with the exception of the truck route which started it all.

The license plate light on my trailer wasn’t working the inspection and registration on my truck were fine it’s the actual trailer that was cited . Some of this stuff I didn’t know was part of a pre trip
They sent me out on that trailer that was expired and not inspected doing a pre trip around this trailer wouldn’t tell me if the license plate was expired . My actual truck was inspected and registered I get to the yard and pick this trailer up and a pre trip is suppose to tell me that it’s inspected and registered ? The gvr weight on my trailer is 18000 the gvr2 is 36000 It’s legal to park that trailer outside of my house . And like I said there are no signs indicating I t wasn’t a truck route it’s literally a county road . -
1) I doubt you'd be fired over it. No reg and insp on the trailer you in a perfect world should have caught, however in my world the company shares some of the responsibility for their oversight. I went through a level one inspection in KY and got written up for no triangles. Wasn't my assigned truck and didn't check for triangles so I'll give you a pass on that one. It's just not something I'm in a habit of looking for during a pre-trip because I already know I got them in my truck.
2) You won't lose your CDL...nothing to worry about there.
Just give the report to your company and let them deal with it.
Live and learn.kylefitzy, Trucker1094 and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Yes. Yes it is. And if you don't know that, you got your CDL out of a cereal box.
-
Right. Just keep ignoring the extremely basic things that are.

Oh my goodness....... I see a ton of things going on here.... I don't even know where to start.
When I opened the file in another tab so I could enlarge it & I seen "elec"... I said uh oh... no wonder.
I'll try to respectfully answer some things here.
First in that rig......... hot shot..... truck & gooseneck, get used to this. It's gonna happen regularly.
I agree with another member that there were some abusive violations in there. Not that they were abusive but it was the number of violations etc. He could have written 1 or 2 & given you a verbal on things like no lic plate light & no triangles etc. But with this hot shot rig... again, get used to it. Every trooper that stops you (and it'll be often), is going to be multiple violations everytime. ENJoy!
Yeah, the company bears a lot of responsibility here.... but so do you. You both lack a lot of insight on this industry.
The company had expired plates & no federal inspection on a trailer that they are running under FMCSA????????????
So you're saying:
Wait... WHAT?!?!?! Yes a pre trip includes checking ALL paperwork including in the glove box. ALL paperwork. Insurance, registration, IFTA.... everything. A pretrip would absolutely tell you if the licence is expired.
No, you made many mistakes... & Mrushed your pretrip ALOT! One was going to work for a knucklehead who doesn't know anymore about FMCSA rules than you do... or worse... a knucklehead who don't care. The others were not checking for the 7 things you got caught for.... & the countless other things you didn't get written up for.
I'll add that besides the rig you're driving is a magnet for being stopped for inspection & it, in itself is going to be a lot of trouble....
You & you're employer both not knowing &/or caring about these things is going to end up getting both of you in a lot of continuous trouble before this is over... in a short period of time I'm afraid.
At least one of you better get your nose in that little green book & study it.wis bang, Gearjammin' Penguin and Iamoverit Thank this.
