I prefer not to half ### my calculator. With the large increases in operational expenses it's pretty foolish to run for chump change when better options are out there. Diesel, shop rates, parts, insurance etc etc are all at record highs while rates drag well below proportionally speaking.

In which case, sell the equipment and get out into something else. Holding onto equipment and/or an authority waiting for things to swing up will forever distract you from giving any other venture the attention it needs to truly shine. Same with trucking. If you’re only in it on the upswing and can’t make it in the downswing, you haven’t gotten your groove. And leaping out when times get lean deprives you of many opportunities to improve your business.

When you can survive the bust, only then can you truly benefit a boom.

Why are you so concerned with my operation? Run yours and stop worrying about mine. I'll run it as I see fit.

I tell em #### like stand in the jail to load the top deck I’ll help you drive em on. You can keep ‘em from turning back on ya that way. Once I slam that top door shut they are on their own. You’d be surprised how many won’t figure it out till it’s too late. You want to achieve true double ####### status you gotta work it

I’m on the clock. Been Sitting 2 hrs waiting to load. I’ll drive an hour, wait another hour or two to unload. Drive 1.5 hrs back to the yard. Give me 12 or 13 hrs. I’m about $400 a week short on what I paid myself. Thinking about a Handyman service, working Saturdays. Lol. Today a lady at Ford said she needs 2 bath fans, some under cabinet lighting and a ceiling fan installed. Might just be a plan. Lol. Took her # just in case. Said she has lots of single friends that need small jobs done. Selling some vehicles now. Looking for a good work van. Mainly to put all my Mechanics tools. Maybe some Carpentry tools. Keeping my Truck, Trailer and Authority for now. Never know what Local Opportunities will come up next year. All in all, keeping a positive outlook. Nothing lasts forever. So far it’s a nice change. I’m liable to start hating it any day. Honestly don’t know. My Boss is Great. I worked for him 29 years ago. Hell of a good guy. Only one I’d ever work for again. First place I called, it was him. He runs 20 Trucks local. Go figure. What’s the chances? Turned down 3 other offers. Yesterday, I delivered to the first Company I ever drove for 37 years ago. It’s a small world. Strange coincidences keep happening. Like it’s meant to be. We shall see.
