I must be missing something in the scheme of things. I can't find where there has been anything written about when a driver is in trouble. Plenty of info about the points per naughty deed but no info about how many points is considered not so good or how many points is considered time for a new career. Also what about the decreasing value as time passes. Is it a percentage, a table or what ever?![]()

I don't think you're missing anything. The data from roadside inspections and crashes is still being accumulated, analyzed, normalized, hypothesized, criticized, plus a few other "-izeds". Supposedly, BASIC scores will be "out" by July. Safety Fitness Determinations, the nasty hammers that will deal death blows, will require an actual "rule".
Carriers and drivers alike, unless they are asleep at the switch, surely must know how they stack up against other carriers and drivers. If a carrier's SafeStat scores suck now, it's a better than even bet that their BASIC scores will also suck.
My opinion, just from a lot of reading, not from "hands on experience", is that carriers will solve the bad driver issue themselves. From some of the recent "my carrier done me wrong" songs posted here on the forum lately, I'd say the carriers, the larger ones anyway, have begun to purge their driver pools already. Everything a driver does that results in ding during a roadside inspection goes on the carrier. -
Not now, someone finally fessed-up! I guess only good guy/gals joined the forum, huh?

"The most significant event in the industry since deregulation!" Or so I've heard.....jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
I know of one driver in our fleet of 17 that is concerned. Mainly, doesn't know what level the proverbial "bar" will be set. He will be the first driver that will need to be very defensive with His situation. Our company has been one that says to just "keep what we have been doing and all will be fine." In other words, "if you find something, write it up when you return, and it'll get fixed then."
Our fleet normally returns home every day. We start o'dark thirty. We all run about 300+ miles per day.
It will get interesting.JustSonny Thanks this. -
It'll probably be awhile before any drivers are dealt a death blow so, that driver likely has time to mend his ways, unless, of course, your carrier mends them for him.

With this system, time is your friend. Most of His points were a little over 2 years ago. This time next year, staying clean, He will be fine.

Good deal!

Just bumping this poll up again. The last post was about 3 weeks ago. I'm wondering if there might be increased interest since it's 3 weeks closer to partial rollout!
