Right. Especially right now but when it flips back the cycle will begin again and they'll be selling. Look what happened when the ELD mandate passed. Pre2k truck prices skyrocketed and even trailers were difficult to find that weren't overpriced.

The scamdemic made things really crazy too. Seems every few years something happens to make the values (and availability) or trucks/trailers drastically increase or decrease.

If they exempt them again when the speed limitet law goes into effect I have a feeling this will happen once again.

What's wrong with your lawn ornament? If it's pre2k it will only increase in value as they keep passing these laws and mandates. The only caveat I see is if thet go full on California mode and render them nearly illegal instead of exemption by model year.

 

Making real money like who? You? Get real. You’re the one who voluntarily parked your Truck. The very idea that you think it’s an investment is hilarious. It’s obvious you were caught off guard and can no longer afford to run. If you’re so smart, why didn’t you sell everything while prices were up. Prices are dropping and will be down for years to come. You obviously weren’t paying attention in 1999. Now you’re stuck with equipment that’s not being used. Losing value every day. Real Smart. You’re in the same boat as I am. I don’t know why it’s so important to try to prove yourself to a total stranger. Nobody really cares. You’re just another Trucker who thinks he knows everything. If you did know what you were doing. You’d be like my Boss. He’s running 20 Trucks, still busy, still making a profit. Paying me $33 hr. today. I’ll take it. Easy money. I’m grateful to know enough good people in this Industry. I’ve known him for 29 years. Seen a lot of Blow Hards come and go. One thing in common, They know it all.

 

Wrong wrong wrong. That ship has sailed. Newer Trucks get better mpg’s and have less problems these days. Wish all you want. Old Trucks days are numbered. There’s an amazingly amount of old ones available because of the reasons you mentioned. Probably too many for the current and future market. Not everyone wants them. The Independents that do are dying off. It’s the end of an era. You’re too late to the game. Everybody and their brother had the same idea that you did Genius.

You’re posting on a public forum. If you don’t like what people have to say on your situation, don’t share it. Simple as that.

Look this is one of the best threads on this forum.. Don’t ruin it you gave your opinion we all know your thoughts You haven’t been around here long enough I guess to understand something’s. If you knew @Rideandrepair ’s story maybe you would look at things differently. I respect him an consider him a friend here and I don’t hand out much respect here cause you have to earn it not that I’am anybody important myself but I don’t have much use for a guy that starts insulting my friends..
