Percentage pay transparency

The law seems to apply differently to owner ops that lease to a carrier vs company drivers who are paid percentage. I can as an owner op technically ask to see the freight bills for the loads I haul. If you haul contract freight you will learn what each lane is supposed to pay and that’s probably about as good as you will get. Your co-workers will be a better source of what the freight usually pays than the carrier showing you the freight invoice.

I've worked percentage before and always asked if I would be able to request the rate con.

one said no, didn't stay long, 2nd one said sure

I went in a few months later and asked to see a rate con of a random load I had done, they pulled it out of the file cabinet and showed me.

It was as they said.

 

I wouldn't haul for them unless the money was spectacular. I don't need to know the gross if I'm extremely excited about my cut.
