Man!! I wanted to go to Magnum so bad, sucks they're not hiring new CDL grads from South Florida right now which is funny because a trucker YouTuber refer them to me and he lives in South Florida LMAO!!! Maybe 1 year from now after I do my time with another company, things will get better and they will take me with experience.
I’m gonna be finishing up driving school in a couple of months

Flatbed pays more per mile but typically flatbed may not drive as many miles per week, so you take-home pay depends on Cents Per Mile CPM AND miles per week. Flatbed typically isn't scheduled as tight like dry van or reefer. That means the dispatchers & load planners don't expect customers to load/unload the freight in 30 minutes and schedule the next load's appointment that can't be met unless loading/unloading takes 30 minutes and not one second longer. There is more physical labor from the driver with flatbedding than dry van, reefer, and tanker, on average.nextgentrucker and lual Thank this.

You can do well with flatbed or reefers. I've done both and really liked both.

Thank you this is a lot to think about and I will be trying those companies when I pass in a couple of monthsChinatown Thanks this.

Transfer to Landair owned by Covenant. You make more, solo, better routes and keep your seniority. The grass is never greener on the other side.

So that means, Flatbed takes longer at receivers to unload than Dry Van/Reefer?
-
Dry van ~ time for a pizza to deliver
Flat bed ~ time to mow your lawn
Reefer ~ time for rigor mortis to finish

Depends; every load is different with any type of trailer you pull.nextgentrucker Thanks this.
