Given your age I would have to say FIL is at least 65. I would dare to venture the clots were a result of something other than the transplant itself. If he is having rejection that far out it might be time to change anti rejetion meds. there is some great ones out there now that weren't around then. Hope he goes another 15.

Welcome and best to you Ivad - I'm new also and this forum is awesome.

Yeah, he is early-mid 70's. I have a feeling that you right. I dont think that the clots have anything to do with the transplant.
He has great Dr's in Dallas. The ones at the ER here in Ft. Worth, well, I think I can diagnose things as good as they do. Havent been happy with this ER in several years since they screwed up my wifes ankle.Baack Thanks this. -
Hi, thank you for your reply. I am going through the Voc. Rehab and they will pay for the whole school. They are only waiting for me to get the D.O.T card and I did get the release from my Doc. without limitations. I am just worried about how to answer some questions I guess. I don't want to say more than I have to and of course I don't want to lie either. Than the will not only pay for the school, but because its about 60 miles from my residence they will pay for my gas and even daycare if I need it. That is great, except I am still worry about, if after all that, I will even be given a chance by any company to drive.

My voc rehab has no funding for my classification so I am also trying WIA. They said would pay for training if I can get letter from a compny saying they will hire me. I have filed a discrimination complaint because this is not required of everyone just some people who have or have had a disability. The kicker is they don't guarantee a job after training anyway. It's your responsibility to obtain employment. They only help with resumes and interview skills. Be honest on your physical because a heart transplant is not disqualifying according to DOT. just the insurance companies who run the country. Good luck.

Hi, again
so, I went today and got my D.O.T. I have passed and got it for one year. I told them my med's, and they check me out, not really as intensive as I participated, the only thing I forgot to mention was my prednisone (5mg/day). I am going to call back and see if that is a problem, but from what I see, it should not matter.Baack Thanks this. -
Congrats! Hope that everything works out in your favor!
