Lt, you've had some nice runs and miles, happy for ya, as always thanks for keeping us posted. You haven't mentioned anything about truck maintenance, how are their shops and truck PMs, I now some companies are sticklers and some couldn't give a crap about their trucks as long as they are rolling.

They're pretty good about maintenance except for the Atlanta terminal at Forest Park... they are so slooow. Also have heard they do a horrible job on PM's

I did the same thing with another company. I actually had to quit a company in order to find a good company.

So good luck. In spit what a lot of people say. I think yetcking still has potential.

On the bright side, don't have to count the number of days on the road each month and some work is better than no work so still a smaller return is better than no return! Maybe one day it will change and people will have to option (okay I'll wake up now lol)

Didn't do multiquote but liked the other poster who mentioned about attitude toward the company and if driver a and b are there...

I guess I was like driver b in some aspect. I didn't tell my dm it was his fault, but when he couldn't get me loads I was calling the planners which they really frowned on and was usually moving within a few hours. Applying at Marten right now and if cleared and I start working then I'll be sure to do more of the driver A attitude and sit tight instead of bugging about moving. In hindsight I'm sure those extra miles I got from calling the planners hurt me in the long run with my local office and my DM.

I drive truck 7942 I belive in doing the best job I can. They hired me to drive there trucks by there rules and that is what I do. I did 2758 mile between 3/10-3/15 2884 between 3/16-3/22 headed home now and will have 1158 between 3/22-3/24. I will be glad to show my pay stubs to any one who wants to see them any time we meet up on the road. My FM and I get along great I make her look good and she gets me the miles. I follow Martens rules regardless of what I think of them and no one gives me a hard time.

I have done 1 yard check that was out of my way, And they paid me $20 for it. The rest where at shippers/rec. where I was any way. No big deal. Your there, takes 5 minutes and your done. At the ones where Marten is in and out 20 times a day I just do my thing, some one else has just done one and some one will do another in 30 mins. They don't need one from me. I only know of one place like that. The rest there might be 5-10 trails. Where's the problem? This is what I am talking about, Getting all bent out of shape about such stuff is only harming you. Saying something to your DM is only going to put you in a bad lite. Keep your mouth shut and do it and you look like a good drive who cooperates with the company. Next thing you know you are running better loads and it's few and far betten when you have to do such things. Been 2 months sense the last time I did one.

I've only done one yard check here at Marten so far. It's no biggie. Sometimes they need to know what trailers are where, after all they have thousands of them
