That is a very long run-on sentence and I got a little light headed reading it all in one breath but I can try to make it really easy to understand if you know what I mean I have a 386 and it's listed as a 386 on the VIN plate but it's not a glider but a lot of 386 gliders are titled as and have 389K printed on the VIN plate because it's a 389 configured as a 386 the only difference between a 386 and a 388 is the hood and front frame horns and there was earlier 389 short hoods and also short hood car hauler configurations that had lower cab mounts like the 389 but then around 2009 or 2010 I believe they simplified things with the 388 as the short hood and the 389 as the long hood but then still called the 389 car haulers with the short hoods 389s for some reason that I don't quite understand but yeah, (inhale) a 386 is a 389 with some cosmetic differences and a inch or 2 higher cab mounts

i really hate it when they do stuff like that. Makes getting the correct replacement part you need a real nightmare sometimes.
