And I hope Cummins pays up big! The amount of money, time and grief I spent dealing with their SCR disaster in semis, is something I think the engineers at Cummins could care less about. I hope the next generation of drivers has it easier, really do.

At least the class 8 engines are good and reliable.
High Stepper and Opus Thank this. -
They should confiscate and crush every one of those trucks……..
-
I wonder why they didn't put these cheat systems on the Class 8's that were putting people out of business...
-
They figure we have deep pockets…LOTSO Thanks this.
-
Because we don't have to go in for emissions testing. All the defeat devices do is detect when the tailpipe is getting covered and changes how the engine works to meet the desired emissions.LOTSO Thanks this.
-
Yep.
-
They could have defeated the derating and let the truck continue to run ….. but no . Make us sit and call a tow truck and then set some more at a dealership…LOTSO Thanks this.

At the very least they could have done what they did for Emergency Vehicles. They get a (1) or (2) key off/on cycle to continue operating until they can get back to a shop. Wonder how many thousands of dollars that could have saved an O/O to make it home and have a shop they trust fix it.Crude Truckin' and JoeyJunk Thank this.

Just remember, they're with the government and they're here to help you.
