3/8-3/20
Dropped my load into P&G at 6 AM Monday morning and was off by 9:00 AM. Got a load of snot out Tuesday afternoon headed to a coal mine in Henderson Ky. I ran until midnight and shut it down about 220 miles from the mine.
The next morning I got a call from dispatch saying the customer was changing the delivery a little. They wanted me to put part of the load into 2 totes then fill the big tank up to a mark on the side and take the rest to a different coal mine 20 miles away. What a pain in the butt that was.
The deal with these mines is how dirty they are. Almost always you end up parking in black muck that covers the top of you boots as you slosh around in it. The second mine also happened to position my fitting box right under a conveyor belt that actually rained mud from above down on you.
It took about 4.5 hours to get both loads off and I was tankwashed back to Louisville, told to drop my dirty tank, hook a clean one, head up to Cincinnati, drop hook again and load at 7:00 AM the next morning heading back to Brown Summit. I knew as soon as I saw it that this extra coal mine delivery would prevent me from making it back to Cincy in time to load the next morning. I called and they had a local guy load me so I was drop hook loaded home by Thursday Noon. I dropped that load into P&G Friday morning, was off by 10:00 AM and enjoyed a long weekend at home.
This week 3/15-19 consisted of a dedicated out and back run to N Chicago coupled with another out and back to Winder Ga both for P&G. I had a trailer blowout Friday costing me a couple of hours but was still off by 14:00 looking at another 3 day weekend at home. I also got through the house Wed night so I am making up some home time I missed doing restarts on the road.
Nest week will find me back out into the system with a resin load headed to Holland Mi leaving sometime Monday.

The baltimore,md terminal is allways hiring drivers is it a bad terminal to work out of.
-
There was a guy posting here who worked there on a dedicated dry bulk run. He started about the same time I did with superior. When the economy tanked his dedicated work slowed down and he wasn't happy with the money he was making. Moneycat was his handle. About a year in I talked to him and he said he didn't think he would make 40K that year.
I have been to the Baltimore terminal 3 times. They always treated me well and I got good loads out promptly. People were nice even the shop guys. Its probably worth talking to the TM. The system is running pretty good right now. I actually have a load heading to Baltimore loading at noon in Chicago Wed 3/24. -
I always see the QC and Superior tankers running around in KY

One of them was me a couple of weeks ago. Lots of snot loads go to those coal mines west of Louisville.

Yeah, I run 135 mile radius of L'ville daily so part of my dedicated lanes is going to owensboro, evansville & elizabethtown weekly. I'm always on 64, 65, WKYP & the W.Natcher.

This thread pretty much documents what I have done for 2 years. Its different every week. They try to get you home weekends if you ask. I pretty much go where they tell me.
This week I left High Point NC Monday around noon and ran to Holland Michigan. Delivered that load Tuesday and ran over to Chicago. I loaded Wed in Millsdale Il and delivered that load in Baltimore on Thursday then deadheaded up to Paulsboro NJ. Friday I loaded in Lansdale PA and will drop that load on our yard Saturday. Off Sunday. Monday I will be working local. They will send me back out OTR Tuesday. -
Thanks again rob
