I read my bills and know that on occation it will send you on a route of their choice, I just never heard of it being on every contract as a rule of thumb.

You get a cookie for now....:biggrin_25514:

I probably got myself in trouble but I informed my DM that Tomorrows 10:06 am delivery didn't look good anymore considering the roads still closed also that I wanted to tell the planners I TOLD YOU SO. If I could have ran my route I would be on I40 going into Texas about right now. He never responded he may not have liked that.
Oh well what do I know I'm just a Dumb truck driver who cares that sitting cost me about $768.00 a day in revenue as long as the truck payments made.

    fr8tshkr and Jarbo Thank this.

Wear and tear on the equipment, I mean why go thru the hills if I can take the southern route, maybe better fuel mileage, and maybe to miss a storm that will cause you to be shutdown for 2 days.

Please refer yourself to my helpful hint as you just repeated exactly what I said.Notice I gave both Practical and shortest route as options :biggrin_2556: Furthermore if you know how to drive up and down the humps the correct way then wear and tear is minimal. I don't know of any roads with no hills at all as the earth is not flat some are just smaller than others. :biggrin_25525:

Minimal? Why even put your truck thru it if there is another route that may add 60 miles instead of pulling long grades. That's what I was trying to say. As far as your comment about knowing how to drive..........well please don't go there with me and keep the snide commets to yourself please.

aahhh,,,that explain all the haterism,,,,its not in every contract,,but definately in some,,,have also pulled quite a few loads that cannot be repowered without shippers/receivers approval,,,its amazing what some of the clients want,,,if u want to see picky,,,haul some potable water pipes on flatbed and have the receiver run chemical swipes inside the first few feet of the upper stack of pipes to make sure no deisel fumes/soot found their way and that u kept a smoke tarp on for the entire trip.
