Before you buy mobile broadband step in.....

I run west too much and sprint does a poor job going across the western area unless your close to a city. I went with verizon. Same price $60 but much better coverage

 

$60 just seems very high to me when you can pay $20/month at the J and T/A for wifi. You can also use your member points to pay for it. I am curious as to why you chose that over using wifi hotspots? I am on the J's wifi right now using a net book. Is the broadband that much better?

Edit: My issue is that 5gb is alot to use for me. I could use skype everyday along with my minimal surfing and occasional downloands and wouldnt touch 5gb. BUT having internet basically everywhere I have cell coverage would be nice along with the fact that it's a prepay service with no monthly bill. But it's still a big expense when I can just duck into a J or T/A almost every night for less money. Now if you could buy 5gigs and use it till it runs out regardless of how long it takes you, I would be sold.

 

Not sure where you got this info from but I was at radio shack last night and looked at the virgin mobile broadband and it is $60 for 1 gig not 5 gig. That's a total ripoff.

 

I pay the $60 for mobil broadband mainly because I dont have to be in a truckstop to get on it but I pull a lot of oversize loads so being able to print out the permit wherever I am is important to me plus I dont have to wait in line to get a permit. This time of the year daylight is precious for drivers that pull oversize loads.

 

You better double check that......I have virgin mobile broadband and here's the deal
10.00........100mb 10 days
20.00........300mb 30 days
40.00........1 gb 30 days
60.00........5 gb 30 days

No contract! They use the sprint network and have had very few issues with service. Far as I'm concerned its a much better deal now than the 60.00 contract deals but those prices may fall now? With prepaid being the same

 

I have a Droid on the VZW network and an Overdrive mobile hot spot on Sprint. I run to the south and southwest and I have no problems with Sprint's coverage. Most of the time it is at least equal to my Droid's coverage.

The one thing that my Overdrive does that no other carrier does yet is 4G/Wimax in certain cities. Not only is it REALLY fast while on 4G, but it also has no monthly cap (5gb on 3G). And still $59/mo.
