Well all thing that look good are not always good. Took the truck to another shop and the air leak was one of the air bags on the back of cab had them replace both bags. Ask them to look truck over good because there was a slight vibration at low speed found out the carrier and rear transmission bearing was bad they fix that and this morning around 7am Joe (Shop Owner) call me and ask me to come out he had something he wanted to show me. when I got out there he told me he found what caused the bearings to go out and he wanted to show it to me before he sent it out to get fixed. The drive shaft slip yoke someone had pulled the grease fitting out and plugged it so it had never been greased causing it to cease up and bind. His son has to go to Concord this morning so he is having him pick up the part in Charlotte but in the mean time the shop that is going to cut the bad one out and put the new one in is trying to borrow the part from another company. They are bending over backwards to get it done by this afternoon. Am I mad, upset or disappointed no not at all why cause God will never give me anything that I cant handle. I met a new friend and someone to work on my truck thats not going to rob me blind so I look at it as a blessing. Someone is going to say well how do you know all the stuff was bad and he wasn't just running a number on you. Well before he do anything he will show you whats wrong. Now here is the part where you can laugh and call me stupid I should have inspected the truck a lot better than I did before signed I have Ten(10) Years experience as a diesel mechanic. Now you can go ahead and laugh because I am. Now what you should take from my experence is
    1) When in a hurry to get a truck and get to work have a second person outside the dealer to look it over because no matter how machanically incline you are you might miss something
    2) There are truck shops that lookout for drivers out there and will not try to rip you off
    3) I wont preach but all things happen for a reason you just have to look at the good that comes out of it
Oh and by the way Replace carrier bearing, Pull rear transmission send out to have bearings and seals replaced, Replace 2 cab airbags and sending drive shaft out for repair Total Cost $1229 Now if you know a truckstop or dealer that can come close to matching that let me know. Now to see how much the dealer is going to reimburse. And I think I can post this but if not the mods will remove it but the shop is Midway Truck Repair exit 97 off US 52

I am suppose to be headed to Shereveport saturday to sign on with Tango I will keep posting of my progress

Thanks All Be Safe and God Bless

Don't feel bad I did the same thing and it cost me a lot. My very first lesson was that lessons don't come cheap. :biggrin_25523: I know others out there have done the same or worse. What else can be said you learn from these things and move forward.

Actually pretty cheap and now you know the drivetrain is in good shape. I would have them pull an oil analysis on the engine (if enough miles on the oil) trans and rears and you can roll not worrying about the major stuff.

Next for tires and alignment I used Southern Tire I think was the name. They have locations all over the south from MS to TX but is a small place. They just did a road service on me the other night and I still cant remember the name but here is the info for the one I used.
WINGFOOT COMMERCIAL TIRE SYSTEMS 555 HWY 80 EAST PEARL, MS USA 39208 601-932-0706It is right next to the Flying J in Pearl (Jackson) Mississippi. I had them do my alignment and bought my tires there. They do their own recaps. I had them cap my virgin drives and steers to reuse. It is hard to find a good alignment place.
