JCT

well where to start....

today has been a very big day, as you all know i was told that i HAD to take my truck to the shop and getting there i was told that all tranny work goes to the DEALER....

ok ok so thats done and now we move on.. right? wrong! yesterday i called the dealer about my truck and was told that they were still checking into the problem.. i smelled something fishy but ok.... i told them that i would check again in the morning.... being that because of my truck being down i have not been able to swing the home time and sense i was going to be in the motel again i called my wife to bring the kids to tulsa and at least we could spend some time together......

on a side note, i have always tried to just make the best of any issue, but some times my mouth has a mind of its own and thats just the way it is....

I called this am as i told them that i would, and was told that my truck had been picked up by JCT. so i asked what was done to it and was told that nothing was wrong with my truck. some idiot told me that he drove it for 12 miles and sees nothing wrong with it. so i told him that i had driven it for 48000 miles and that indeed there was something wrong with it.... and i was told to call my shop.

i called my dm and asked what the hell was going on and he didn't know anything about it and told me to talk to Royce. (the fun was about to begin)

Royce answered the phone with is usual attitude and once he knew who i was and so on, I found out how big of an ####### the pile of #### is.... yup, i said it.
He asked me what was wrong with the truck and i told him i didn't know, i don't work on em I drive em.. so he asked how can they fix it if nothing is wrong.....

well, about 5 min into the call i said, i dont know it has a rattle in the tranny...... thats when this ignorant mother....... told me that maybe, it was the "baby rattle" in my pocket. yup baby rattle.. so at that point i let him know just how much i thought of him and his shop, and at that point I informed him that i would just clean out my truck!!!!!

he backed off real fast and gave me the ol "don't do it" speech and i held my ground and told him again just what i thought of his lame ###... and hung up.

then i called my DM and told him I was on my way to the yard and would be cleaning out my truck...
My DM is steve and is a good guy and despite our rough road at times i think the world of him and intend to stay in touch as much as i can.. He did try to talk to me and I had a meeting with him and a few others in upper management but my mind was set.

so yes, you have read this right, the "godfather" is gone! i will not be Royce's or anyones #####! I still think that JCT is a good company to work for, and you will make good money here.

i have been honest with all of you about the company and hope those of who have come here because of something I said will not feel as if I lied to you. we have all told you that the shop is ####### scam! maybe not that blunt but there it is. stay away from the shop at all cost..

I will add that when I notified them they did try to keep me and make it all good, but i feel that when it come to this point its just time to go....

I will still check in here when i can (i seem to have some extra time right now) and still think its a good company to work for. I'm not going to be a JCT basher and I was NOT fired.

for the ones here that have become my friends, i hope we all remain friends, my house is alway open to you guys, call ahead and i will have the wife make a nice apple pie for after dinner....

I already have something in the works as far as a job, I'm not worried and have enough money set back to do something like this............ I'm not mad at anyone, and hold no hard feelings towards JCT or anyone there including Royce, he is an idiot but can't help it I guess..

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I too chose the Rand McNasty. I had a Garmin nuvi, but it was not truck specific, and wanted the one with all the bells and whistles. (tax deduction anyway right!)

Well, the Rand McNasty locked up on me several times, and after having it for 3 weeks, I took it back to Pilot, and they gave me a brand new one (they have a 30 day exchange policy). Second one was a bit better, but when I got into Boston, and was on the Interstate, but it showed me about 500 feet off the side of the road, and kept recalculating my route, it almost went out the window! At least once a week I would update in with the TND dock, and tried to stay current. It would give me an alert for approaching a scale, or state border consistently! Only problem was, it was consistently 3 miles AFTER I passed it, and it was set to notify me 5 miles BEFORE!

So, back to a Pilot. This time Exit 39 in NM, I-40, and the kind manager informed me that this was the 13th one she has exchanged, and offered me to keep the RM, or go with another one of equal or higher value. GARMIN, 465T, and I am absolutley happy with it. No more freeze ups, and very FASt calculations. I originally thought RM would be ebtter since they have been in the mapping business forever, but Garmin, IMHO, is a better unit.

Rand mac only made paper maps not gps's that would explain y lol. Gonna b awhile b4 they catch up to the bigboys
