Wrong, they paid many a overweight ticket at Odessa, MO scales when Scholatsic was shipping hot and heavy. This was back in early 2000's, but I'm sure it's not much different now at times.austinmike, Lonesome, High Stepper and 1 other person Thank this.

The rollers ran down the center, load the belly and fold-down platforms rested on the rollers once it was full. UPS went to flat floors and FedEx followed suit a few years later, although I'm sure there's still some in circulation.High Stepper, JohnBoy, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.

Weight wise, from my understanding, the loads are under 15,000 pounds each. One of the teams here have said to me they average under 20,000 total load.IH9300SBA, Lonesome, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this.

Thanks Mack, I knew you’d come up with something to guide me along.Last edited: Jan 8, 2024

Here is a snap shot off what we call our trip buddy. It shows the weight of each trailer. Like what has been told to me by alot of you folks, and to me when I was hooking sets last week, heavier trailer in the front.

Tracy Byrd was a good country singer. Now a FedEx driver. How about that! Lol

I preferred the gentle tap method also.
My quick tip is, always dump the dolly air fully before moving it. You only have to get jabbed in the gut once when pushing a dolly and brakes suddenly grab before learning that lesson.
You are going to love how doubles go around corners. Nothing like whipping into a McDonald's parking lot for a sneaky egg McMuffin while hauling a full set and spinning around in a space a straight truck would have to 3 point turn to get out of.austinmike, viper822004, IH9300SBA and 5 others Thank this. -
That might not work so well with the dollies that have crank landing gear, but few companies use those nasty SOBs anymore.viper822004, High Stepper, IH9300SBA and 5 others Thank this.

Well now. I’ve learned something new. Because of all the bad weather throughout the country, and the roads being shut down, it has a direct effect on what we do nationwide. All of our regular hubs are missing sorts because of lack of inbound trucks. So yesterday and today I’m running local for part of the day. That’s fine with me. Gives me time to set up shop and do some shopping for some much needed groceries.
viper822004, MidWest_MacDaddy, jarhead0311 and 14 others Thank this.
