Really?
My port [owner operators] owned their tractor [investment in tools/materials necessary] while maintaining control [pick what to do and when] and experience profit/loss by choosing, they hope, to work enough to cover that sudden repair, etc.
Any one could leave and be doing the same thing for another carrier almost overnight yet I had guys who stayed for decades. made enough to buy multiple houses [yeah it was Carteret] and take months long vacations to visit 'home'.
Part of a good lease contract points out that the carrier has more business than they can handle and that the leasing power wants to do that work; it is supposed to be a mutual contract. -
Who sets rates and who decides how the work is done…?
just being able to say no to a certain load don’t count……
I call you up today and say do you want to take this load for me…..you say no I don’t have liability insurance or authority……enough said…..Old_n_gray, Iamoverit and nikmirbre Thank this. -
If someone does that, i give them a price and if they say yes, i figure out where to work them in my schedule that fits with theirs, i haul it, then the company im leased to bills them the amount i told them...
Wheres the problem?Tug Toy Thanks this. -

I assume that’s @BigBadBill company. I guess that passes the smell test . If you can haul for anyone and you deal with setting the price……
If your talking landstar , that’s a company employee ……Old_n_gray Thanks this.
