Folks there will get tired of the added cost of goods. Think how good those $17 pizza pockets will taste

Crap is getting out of control.
Time for me to sail off into the sunset :)

Just signed up for the California “clean truck check” BS and I read that there’s like 14 other states going in the same direction with the craziness.

Its simpler than that, the trucking companies could just refuse to service the town.

Theyre already coming in on small straight box trucks, sell those trucks and go do profitable routes. Toen starves, not our problem.

THAT is a free market in action

It's insane that trucking companies are suing people for not using their services. With each passing day I feel like clown world becomes more and more like reality.

Isn’t it the brokers/shippers problem to charge the customer for the last mile delivery? Don’t get why would the trucking company pay? Delivery charge is already in the rate.

I always wished all big cities would have a warehouse to drop at then I could go.

then have a local company do the final mile.

Lets say a beer truck, a meat truck, and a veg truck each have 15 stops in town, which takes an entire day.

So instead of making 45 stops in total, the three big trucks stop just outside of town at a cross dock and off load. Then 5 small trucks each make 5 stops and are done before noon - aka before the tourists are out in force. These are tourist towns we're talking about, not industrial, light industrial, or heavy commercial areas. General freight isn't being impacted, so I don't see what the big deal is.
