I am thinking about uprating a c15 caterpillar from 435 to 500 Hp. I have been told that it's just a upgrade to the ECM, but don't know for sure. Anyone have an idea what the ave shop would charge for this?
thanks

Perhaps $500 or more. Call a dealership with your VIN. They can tell you exactly what needs to be done.

What year is it? Mines rated at 475 but its an 02. You would be better off to go with a pdi ecm. You would get more power and better fuel mileage from what ive been told. Im getting there stage 1 here in the next few days ill see if they are as good as ive been told. Talk to mr. haney or call pdi and talk to them. The pdi stage one is $1600 i think more than what a dealer is going to charge but your getting alot more power.

Thanks for the comeback, 02kittycat, Its a 2006, If you would, could you keep me updated on the pdi stage one. What the actual cost and other pertinent information. Come to thinking about it, your update might make an interesting thread.

I just got the ecm back on the truck today. I noticed it idled a little bit rougher but not much that you can really tell. Ill know later on in the week what it did to mileage and noticeable power gain. Brady that works at pdi said i would be around 650hp or so. So it should be a pretty good power gain since it was rated at 475hp. But ill know for sure later on this week what its like pulling a load with it and mileage gain.
