From the pics the weight is a lot in the base so if you hang the base just over the edge of the driver's side so you have 8 inches overhang then you would have less than 3ft on the ditch side and unless they are poor welders the base should be very safe and solid with 20 or so beams holding it up.
They may consider a couple temp braces on the top but the I beams look plenty strong.
