Judge rips 'charlatan' Dr. Phil

A California judge slammed "Dr. Phil" and called the TV shrink a "charlatan" for allowing a shoplifting couple to boast about their sticky-fingered ways on his show.
Matthew and Laura Eaton were both sentenced to prison this week by federal Judge Irma Gonzalez, who saved her harshest comments for daytime-TV psychologist Phil McGraw.
"What a charlatan this man is," Gonzalez said during the sentencing hearing in San Diego. "What a terrible, terrible man."
The Eatons reportedly made $1 million over seven years by shoplifting goods -- usually toys -- and then reselling them on eBay.

Authorities insist they were on to the pilfering couple before their appearance on "Dr. Phil" in November 2008.
A rep for the show declined to comment yesterday on the judge's tough words.

That Dude's an idiot.
