    NO-We don’t have to!!
Every thing you see with the bluebird logo-trucks,trailers,containers-facilities-Marten owns them. Title, deed and all!!
The company is 100% debt free!

TB John and bryan21384 Thank this.

I know that but I'm asking do they offer it to people that want to do it lol. I don't remember marten offering or even indulging in fleece when I was there.

    NO!
It’s like those old 7UP commercials:
    “Never have and never will!!”;)

Don't make me come over there and show you how to run that Walmart account lol. I used to love running out of new Albany. They had some great loads coming out of there.

    mjd4277 Thanks this.

They only sent me to New Albany once. lol
Usually I’m sent mostly to Tomah,Wintersville or Monroe.
The last two are veritable s***holes that NOBODY wants to go to!
(they play favorites too much at those last two).

Schneider did that too in Wintersville. Back in 08-09.

This isn't true. Marten Transport used to do lease purchase back in the early 2000s at least. They used to have 379s available for L/P and they also leased on owner operators. Those L/P 379s were solid colors with plain white lettering and not the Marten blue with bluebirds that the company trucks were. I looked into doing it in 2005 when I was there on a dedicated Kroger route out of Indy, but even as a company driver with zero truck owner experience, I couldn't see how I could make any money doing it.

To my knowledge they haven’t done it since. I’ve been with the company since 2016. You’re either a company driver or an owner/operator that’s signed on.

Yeah, it was a long time ago and I know they dropped the program at least 10 years ago. Probably because everyone who tried it went broke. Randy probably lost money on it too.

    mjd4277 Thanks this.

Fleece should be looked at by Congress. It's literally the most diabolical stuff ever
