I heard it takes three years to drop off, that's a long time without a job.
Or I should say three yrs. from the date you received the violation.

Do you think those drivers that do get terminated as a result of "BASIC Score Fixin" by carriers will actually get opportunities down the line? Will carriers forgive and forget? Won't carriers be suspicious of drivers who have a documented pattern of non-compliance? The violations that created the problem will drop off a drivers record but they won't vanish into thin air. It's sad to say, but there might not be a light at the end of the tunnel for a driver who has lived on the edge.Lugnut1968 Thanks this.

It's like DAC. It follows you like a bad smell. And worse, I heard it is impossible to get the reports altered/deleted. So this follows you like your shadow. Why don't they just create robots that can be programmed to drive the truck from the dispatch office? All computerized. No late p/u dels, no violations from the "driver". You can shut it down anywhere, anytime. And no problems with payroll, actually no payroll, just profit for the company.Truck stops would dissapear, so the public won't see them as an eyesore, no lot lizards, nada.

The future may one day have a truckers museum, where we will see pics of drivers, truck stops and all the accidents and more. And show how great the world has become without drivers.......unfortunately it will not show what it did to the job market.JustSonny Thanks this. -
There is something called a Data-Q that can be filed by DOT to correct errors. I imagine companies will want to do them since even if they get rid of a driver that record will still affect the companies standing. I imagine the Swifts and Werners of the world will have employees on staff that do nothing else.
Edit:
Found this on the link below. It appeard drivers will be able to file DataQ's

Is there any way for a driver to check on his score at this point? If so, does anybody know the link?
Also can you check on your own company (who you drive for) to check on your "future job" issue? -
Friday, the Cordelia had the trucks stacked up on the Interstate in line for inspection...both East and West bound trucks. I also heard that most all states are stepping up the inspections...probably tied into building the current data for CSA2010.

TX coops are running hot....
AZ is pulling trucks in at the opened rest areas...
CA is so broke....they'll be knocking on your door at 2 am to run a BIT (Biennial Inspection)..... -
The biggest problem is that for carriers the score is carried for two years, but for drivers it is three. It makes sense for a company (carrier) to drop a high pointed driver rather than do anything about the causes behind the points. It should be the same length of time for both, or even better, reversed.
In large organizations, it takes months, if not years, to deal with system related problems. Improving maintainence, as an example, is one of them, getting planners (dispatchers) to get the trips planned out with enough time to run them in is another. -
The company I pull for now...there is no need to worry about time on delivery...P/U Friday, Stockton area (Lathrop, Tracy, maybe even down to Fresno) with two days plus to deliver in Kent, WA...basically 380 miles per day running CA/OR/WA...sufficient time with extra to waste typing on the forum!
