1yr Old "Miracle Baby" dies in Crash

It breaks my heart to read about incidents as such happen. Car, truck or whatever else in between. Like roadmedic I too have spent time on my town's local ambulance service. I have seen way too far my share of deaths due to carelessness. Its not something that I will ever forget. Please be careful and if you are then spread the word. My condolences to the family.

If he drove on the shoulder to pass a stopped, turning vehicle then i would hardly consider him an experienced driver!

 

While I am sorry for your loss, and do believe that the driver made the wrong choices in this incident I beg to differ on the terming of crash/accident.

An accident is an unintentional result of something. I am sure even when this driver made this stupid choice he did not INTEND to hit anything or kill anyone. It was by definition an accident. He did not mean to kill someone or hurt someone.

As hard as it is to believe, I am sure if he is a decent person he feels remorse and self-hatred for what has transpired because of his foul choice, and yes he should be punished for making a idiot choice.

But he is not a demon whom went down the road looking to kill someone. He did not crash on purpose. There is a difference between a terrible decision that leads to an accident and someone who gets in a car to run into/run down someone.

That said, I am terribly sorry for the loss of life, and I do hope he spends some time in jail and never drives a truck again. Too many people drive these days without realizing what a serious threat their rig is to everything around them if they don't keep calm and careful.

 

Reading the article, I believe both drivers of the vehicles were at fault.

However, passing on the shoulder is really a no no. But the driver turning should have been able to see the truck going onto the shoulder.

That said, does not bring anyone back.

I strongly feel the truck driver should not have tried to pass on the shoulder just to save time.

I know in some states they have wider shoulders just for the purpose of what the truck driver did though.

 

People that drive carelessly drive that way no matter what vehicle they're in. They don't become careless or stupid just because they're in a truck. It could have easily been a car or pick-up. Either way, I hate when anything like this happens, and I am very sorry for the loss of that family.
