"Despite Humboldt Emerald Triangle LLC having the proper cultivation and distribution licenses, 5,677 marijuana plants were found to be growing illegally at the farm"
What?
So they can go through all the proper channels and have permits, but their pot is still deemed illegal?
Dont get me wrong, looks like they were clearly bad guys (pretty much for the labor and "pay" conditions imo), but ffs what is up with the quoted sentence, NOTHING in it makes sense and it isnt actually explained by the article -
Their permit was for so many square feet of outdoors grow. They were growing inside of a green-house. Also, the way it was told to me, they had county permits (the ones they were in violation of) but no state permits.
They're not through charging them yet. There are environmental issues that need to be addressed...violation of grading permits, fuel storage, pesticide storage, record of pesticide application, control of water runoff from contaminated ground, stream turbidity.
These people that want to grow pot can find out pretty fast that the wonderful world of agriculture can be a full time and very demanding job.mjd4277 and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
Never mind the gun charges (having guns with the serial numbers filed off and a sawed off shotgun is a major league no-no). They’ll probably get crucified over that more than the marijuana itself!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Justice Department tries to go after them with the RICO Act-doesn’t take much (running a criminal enterprise)!
