So there mr marten don't you think they could have told me b4 they hired me that there freight was slow and if you have a mortgage you might want to look elsewhere?I guess not huh.If they had been upfront with me then I would not have gone there but I guess that would be to much to ask for right,to have a company treat you as a human being rather than another slab of meat sittin behind the wheel

So there Mushroom. Do you live in the dark? Don't you know after 21 yrs that freight goes up and down. That there are good times and bad. Didn't you know that the last 2yrs the economy has been slow and freight is driven by the economy? Is this Martens fault? Everyone was slow. Is it Martens fault that you have no plan for the future? That after 21 yrs you don't know to bank money when you are running good so when freight falls you have a safety net. You can't blame Marten because you live in the dark.

Well mr marten that's an interesting reply, perhaps instead of taking personal shots you might answer the question I posed which was shouldn't they have had the decency to be up front about their freight situation because not everyone in the reefer freight market was impacted as drastically.Without going in to details. I took about a 40 percent pay cut last year and furthemore you have no idea how much of my savings my wife and I had to go through. To stay afloat so again personal attacks are only used by people who can't have a civil dialogue.

The "ONLY" reason Marten freight is slow is they put all the "good" freight on the rail and let their 2500++ drivers do all the local delivery/short run crap that the "rail" won't do. And that is an unarguable FACT. Kabar can come on here and tell us all how its all peaches and cream but there are a few of us that know the TRUTH.

I dont kiss up to anybody. I just try to act professional to my fleet manager and do my job. What else am i gonna do ? If i ever feel im getting screwed, i will ask for a diffrent FM. If that dont work i would start looking for a diffrent company. If i get sick of trucking i will leave it. Also, i go out of my way when im corresponding with my FM to never get buddy buddy with her.

My current fleet manager is getting me good miles and getting me home when i want. Im content with the way things are going for me here at marten. Feels good to keep rolling and get pre planned, after the slow freight that we saw in 2009.

1st Lets get the FACTS straight. The rail has no say on what does or does not go on them. That is a customer thing. Some want the savings in shipping cost and others want it there faster. But there is still good freight to be had. Does putting a load on the rail bug me? You bet, but the bottom line is as long as I'm running good miles I don't care how I do it. With 2000 mile trips or 800 it all adds up. I'm allot more interested in taking home a pay check them crying like a little girl. FACT is my runs are 800-1500 90% of the time. If your's are not them maybe you need to step back and see what you are doing wrong. It's easy to blame others for your mis-fortunes but 99.95% of the time we cause or own problems with the attitude we have.

Ican almost agree with richri on the FM, after 22 yrs in the industry, you will find good ones that care about your livelyhood and will fight for your miles, or you get ###hole FMs that are just there for a paycheck. And has anybody noticed that kabar has never denied or argued that fact if he is or is not Randy Marten?? just saying

Glad to see you've bought into "Martens" company mantra, good luck to you is all i can say. As i stated in previous posts i left Marten in Jan. cause i wasn't getting any miles and now i get all i can handle and then some and i'm home 1 1/2-2 days EVERY week. But if you think its all the "customers" idea that their freight goes on the rail you really are clueless.
