I very much like driving for this dedicated account .... I have not been to a truck stop because we fuel at the yard .... it is 100% no touch, you absolutely work 5 days then off 2 ... no excuses ... most of the time I get home for break during the week also .... we will all be on paperless logs by 3/31 and rumor has it this account is getting all new trucks by end of summer this year ..... my pay for driving 5 days is more than it was at Roehl for 7 days driving ..... for me, this was a great move ....

How tightly do they adhere to the 50 mile limit on dedicated hiring area? Hard n fast or slightly flexible?

I have found the trucks to be kept clean ... if you do get a dirty truck, let dispatch know and they will pay you 40 bucks for the trouble of cleaning it before you drive and charge the last driver the 40 ..... it happened once to me and I did actually get the 40 .... they have a free vacum and supply the the cleaning supplies so there is no reason not to clean the truck after your use

I think it is the same as the Wintersville account (we have a Wintersville dispatcher on loan to us) .... I actually live 56 miles from WCH so I think they are slightly flexible .....

Are you usually out all week? If not, how often do you get home during the week? About how many stops do you average per trailer? Thx for the info.

I am very interested in this thread as well. I am graduating this Friday from a CDL school not tied to any one company. I already had a pre-hire with Roehl and Schnieder just called me today offering a solo regional running 700-800 mile radius to Nashville. I was going refer with Roehl OTR (48 and Canada) and just did my physical for them yesterday. Until Schnieder called today, Roehl was the best company of my pre-hires. On this regional run it is mixed commodities, truck load, 95% no-touch freight. The starting pay is lower than what Roehl quoted me, so I am not crazy about that, but the SNI recruiter told me it is 2000 mile minimum per week with an average of 2300/week. I am a little concerned with less training time than Roehl. SNI is only 7 days orientation in Dallas, go home for the weekend, then meet up with a local "Training Engineer" the following week for 7-10 days, then I get my own truck. In reality, I am not sure that is enough training time for a brand new driver, especially if the trainer does not train well. I do like the fact that they told me I would be home every weekend (at least one day of which is Fri, Sat, or Sun) for a 34-48 hour restart and possibly through home some in the week. The recruiter was very vague on any pay increases from the beginning 26 cents/mile "because of the current economy." Also she would not give me a figure on health benefit premiums. These are red flags too me. I know a few posters on this thread have had negative experiences with Roehl and I am not disregarding those experiences, but I also know that different drivers can have various experiences with the same company. I would prefer to haul refers, but realistically understand there is not a hard transition from dry van to refer should I go with a refer company after gaining experience with dry van. I have had pre-hires from FFE, Werner, CSRT, Wil-Trans, Roehl, and Schnieder. Out of the pre-hires previous to SNI, my gut had told me to go with Roehl, but now with SNI thrown in the mix, I am not sure which direction to go between Roehl and SNI. I am not looking to use a company only for a years experience if I can help it. I would like to stay put if I am treated fair. However, if after that first 6 months to a year passes and some things are amiss, I do have my sights on Marten. However that is farther down the road.

Any input from the drivers on this forum would be very much appreciated in my making my decision (I know it is ultimately my decision, but having many facts can help the process). I do thank you all in advance for your thoughtful words.
