Drug testing

The object of the hair follicle test it to prove if a person has taken drugs further back, a urine test is only good for drugs taken more recently. As some have commented if you've cleaned up your act good for you, stay clean and hope you pass your CDL school, takes a bit of practice getting used to hauling a trailer between 48' - 53' long. The key when turning on a tight corner to always look back at your axles, this is a habit you'll have to perfect, as driving 4 wheelers that is never something you have to do, when driving on multi lane freeways always be aware of who is next to you in either side lanes if you for some reason have to change lanes. I 2nd this. I'd even try Western's flatbed division. Since you're already in school, that definitely makes it easier to find you a company. Do you know if Big M still takes students? I knew anmew driver some time ago that went to work for them as a trainee but he couldn't cut it. To my knowledge, they do urine only.

 

As far as I know, Big M still hires new cdl school grads.

 

Carter Express would be a phenomenal one to go to. Call all of them up, but from a different number than yours and ask. Sometimes it says on the website that you have to pass both types of drug tests. Its hard to get straight answers for sure unless you have someone who's worked at these companies. We've seen guys on here go to Stevens and Western and actually let that be known on here what it was so that's how the info gets out there.

Best advice I've seen in this thread is to go work elsewhere until you can be sure you'll pass any drug test. Trucking will still be here in a month or two and it isn't really worth it to go work for a dog #### company like western express or whatever in the meantime.

 

This is good advice even of you have to pay for testing out of pocket. Once being tested as a driver any failure will really affect you

 

I think that CVS sells a home hair test kit. I HIGHLY recommend a home test if you have used any substance on the prohibited list in the previous six months.
