No a Detroit had a threaded collar into the block boss. Not like a 84 k30 Gmc I had. Which rusted off in the push in block boss!

 

Took a few minutes tonight and poked around at it. The tube is just held in with a little squeeze connector. Popped right out and found the end of the dip stick right where I expected. Take off 2 bolts holding the tube in place up top and it all slid out. The cable portion is held in by a stupid crimp on the cap. Crushed it with a hammer and good as new. For extra fun do this while engine is still at operating temp and the bolts are surrounded by hot coolant and fuel lines

This probably works for all modern DD15/DD16.

Long painted sign came off gramps truck. And the framed Hennis came of dad first truck.

 

An old Artie Kos rig! He was a big player in the Alberta oil patch back in the day. I think my old man has some pictures of his iron in an old photo album somewhere.

 

I absolutely love it!!!! that’s solid gold right there!!!

 

We cry about ac not working. Dad ran the Carolinas to Ohio, Michigan in a Day cab IH gasser tandem,tandem flatbed in 1969 for Hennis.

 

Good deal. I apologize my Detroit experience ends with the series 60. Never worked on a dd13-15-16. Hope I never do.

 

Yeah, all you need to do is take the shot and you can work for them.....pass.

 

I thought they went under before 2020? Haven't seen any of his trucks on the road in a long time.
