Selling operating authority (MC)clean record 2013

Not if you sell a company. Let's say you own a corporation with 3 trucks. You just sell that corporation

 

Someone is a company if they have there authority. Whether they are a corporation or LLC

 

Here is a quote

USDOT numbers are not transferable and are assigned to only one person and remain assigned to that person forever. A person includes an individual, corporation, partnership, or other business organization as authorized by state law. Each separate and distinct person must have separate registration.
