Even if I did 'extreme trucking' (whatever the hell that is), I wouldn't let it be filmed. Creative editing abounds on those shows. You can be made to look like a real moron in a hurry.

Why dont you produce a show about the real trucking industry. You know.....or maybe you dont.....sitting at a dock for 8 hours beyond your scheduled appointment (and not getting paid for it).....blazing through a truckstop because you barely have 15 minutes to spare to fuel and eat.....dealing with the endless stream of mindless 4 wheelers who have no idea how to act around upwards of 80000 pounds (regardless of whether its moving or not)...... listening to the CB tough guys...... having to drive beyond your hours of service because there is no parking available to take your 10 hour break because states like VA decide its financially worth it to shut down 19 rest areas......paying Walmart $50 just to get into their DC to deliver their load.....covering tolls out of pocket because your company decided to get rid of PrePass.....or how about those snow free tractor/trailers in New Jersey....or the nationwide anti-idle laws.....

I thought The History Channel was supposed to be educational. Lets just continue to lead the mostly ignorant public into believing that trucking is the way the History Channel portrays it.

Good luck on your emercency casting. This is one Navy Chief that will not be watching.....thats right....I am not a trucker.....yet.

You don't have to go to the Himalaya's for extreme trucking, knuckle gripping danger. Just try the Dan Ryan Xway in Chicago or the Jersey Turnpike during rushhour. Or if your really feeling adventurous try the Beltway around DC. :biggrin_2559:

Extreme trucking could also cover a brand new Swiftie going across Donner in January with no chains, no jakes, and (obviously) no clue.

Hey I have a great idea. Why not a reality on Driver Managers that dont have a clue about what they are doing to the drivers? Telling drivers to deliver loads with out reasonable amount of time? The ones that tell the driver you have to do this because he sent the truck that should have taken this load to kalamzoo empty, and wanted you to take the load because your out of hours???

Or you could even do a series of how newbie truckers are getting slighted by companies. Companies like CR England that tell you if you sign on the dotted line, we will rent you a truck and not pay you.

Perhaps a show portraying trucking as it really is, not glamorizing it in any way, would help the public understand what we go through every day. An average truckers day has elements of action (traffic near misses and such), drama (confrontations between drivers/dispatchers/fleet managers/shippers/receivers), comedy (truck stop conversations, miscellaneous driver ramblings), suspense (will he get there on time or forfeit his bonus).
