Get out of here...........
-
Somebody kick this vulture off of here. Driver and van occupants are probably not even in their grave yet and he wants driver violation info.
-
That's preaty bad.

WOW! THATS F'ED UP! Come to a trucking web site to look for dirt on a trucking company and driver so he can further the negative stereotypes that the media insists on giving all of us!
And you want to know who the real low life is? Tell that Guy to look in the mirror! -
I've deleted the reporters post after reading his version of the story. Going to the ATA for any type of an opinion is not going to set well here, Mr. reporter. The ATA is NOT for the drivers. Do some research, you will get an eye opener on them.
Also, I've been reading about the driver himself, and I truely feel for his family, because of the hate generated from the stories produced on this accident. This guy was a trainer, had no accidents and a spotless record, according to his family. 26 years of driving accident free is a huge deal in this industry.
Nevertheless this man burned to death in his truck, so he too, was a victim of the accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that were involved, or effected by this tragedy. You can ask any driver on this forum, what their biggest fear is, and they will tell you, that killing someone while doing their job is on the top of the list.
Please do not vilify the drivers in your articles. Without them, this country would be cripple. And they sacrifice so much to get our goods to us. Their families sacrifice too.truckerdave1970, Scarecrow03, sweezly1 and 12 others Thank this. -

Very well said, BHW.
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Everyone is quick to jump on the poor driver whom burned to death in his cab, IF he was alive at the time of the fire. There has to be some underlying medical issue that caused this wreck. I firmly believe that as the facts are discovered we will find that the truck driver was incapacitated. Of course reporters don't care, they will find some way to spin it as he purposely and willfully let himself get sick or some bs.
Roadmedic Thanks this. -
I am inclined to believe that he may have been gone before the accident.
I did read where they thought he hit the brakes just before the van, but I wonder if it was just the trailer brakes.
It is more spectacular to always put the blame on the trucker, but in fact this time, the truck did cross the road. We need to learn why, as you stated. -
I am not looking to blame the trucker or anybody else, necessarily. I was interested in talking to some truckers who have driven for Hester Inc. to see if they treat drivers well or put undue time pressures on them. The SafeStat rating for this company's cumulative driver violations was 88.4 one a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being the worst score, and anything under 75 being deficient, and its drivers were taken out of service at twice the national rate. So it would seem this company may have a problem. Or maybe the figures are misleading. That's why I wanted to talk to some of its former drivers or current drivers.
