Buy a good Cb set and a 200 watt linear ..... thats all you will need.

Or use a CB and buy a KL-203 for $60. It puts 120 watts out. Good clean audio. And it doesn't cost you much. Just DO NOT use a peaked radio. (only use 1-4 watts in). And that amp will last you for years.

Just forget the topgun compressor and modulator. It is not needed and will do nothing but waist your money.

His point is really a good one. get you a good cb. like a regular cb
cobra 29 and a linear just make sure to stash the linear out of site. or a general lee which looks like a regular cb but has more power. if you are affraid of keying on the wrong channel then never go beyond the 1 thru 40 cb channels. its just that simple.

Yes but if you accidently flip the band switch, it will put you on another frequency other than the one for CB, and the radio will say you're on 1-40.

Best bet is to have the tech put it on whatever the CB band is and just remove the band switch, or maybe just hard wire the band switch to the CB channel.

where might one find a say very small linear amp. not much room to hide stuff in this truck. and its a company truck. we aren't even allowed to plug in the 100watt 12volt power inverters. everyone does but aren't supposed to.

LLook online for a KL-203. They cost about $60. Copper sells them. They work really well. Small about the size of the palm of your hand. And pack a nice punch. It will make your little radio sound like a BIG dog. And you audio will be clean & clear. It needs a LOW deadkey. You must not run over 4 watts into it. 2 watts in is better.
