I haven't really decided what I'm going to get next. I definitely want something bigger, at least 750cc. The CVMG is putting on their spring swap meet in Red Deer around the end of March. Talking to some of the members there's usually a lot of bikes for sale there.
I like the 80's Honda bikes like mine but I think I'd like something with a V-twin next. A Honda Shadow or Yamaha Virago would be pretty cool. I'd definitely like a Harley or Indian but they're a little too pricey and I have a garage that needs heat and power first.

For some reason bikes are stagnant in sales. Most dealers still have showrooms full of last years models. I'm dirt riding more every year it seems. 3500 for an 80s 250 seems to be the going rate.
Crf300 is 7500
Dr650 is 6400
Drz400 is on for 6800.
And I won't have to wrench on it...
Have a few things up in the air. It's been a bizarre few months.singlescrewshaker, cke, jamespmack and 2 others Thank this. -
They had a couple of these on special for $10,500 last fall. I haven't ridden one yet but I really dig that look.

Seems like older bikes are holding value pretty well. Wish I could say the same about sleds.singlescrewshaker, cke, jamespmack and 2 others Thank this. -
One of the other contractors owns a speed twin. He loves it.
My son's good luck continues. He now has 3 VF750s. 1 runner. 1 will be this spring (and minty red white and blue), 1 is a parts mule. And thru the dealer he works at scored a mint 2007 GSXR600 for $500.
They took it on trade then found out it had a rebuilt title from 2008..
He's debating selling all and buying new.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this. -
Don’t get locked into a brand. Some really good rides from the other major companies.
One that comes to mind is the Kawasaki z750. This is the vertical twin, not the 4 cylinder one.
Solid reliable bike. Was in the line for a long time. Should be able to find some for a very reasonable price.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this. -
Nice!
I found a fairly new, low mile bike cheap on Kijiji the other day. Then I found out it required a salvage inspection before it could be registered again. I'm not taking on that headache.
I don't mind tinkering with my old Honda but it'd also be nice to have something that doesn't require that level of upkeep. Oil change once a year and put fuel in it kind of thing. That and I don't want to wear out the Honda too quickly. It deserves some miles but at the rate I rode last year it'll hit 40,000 km in a couple years.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this. -
I've been looking at a few different bikes in the buy & sell. I really like the old school bobber look.singlescrewshaker, CAXPT and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.

What size bike you thinking of?
I’ve seen big twins for $6500 and less over the last year.
From my knowledge, avoid the 1999-2000 model twin cams, quite a few “not all” but many had bottom end issues, mainly the timing chain / oil pump setup. 2001 they got it lined out it seems.
The FX models ( Dyna wide glide, Softail, low rider, super glide, fatboy, Heritage Softail ) are all big twins and decent riding models. XL be the sportster and FL the touring bikes like my Geezer Glide….
Called Harley shop earlier about a battery, $203 no exchange….
