Not a bad looking bike. I'm putting that on my radar. They must de-tune them from factory because it only makes about 11 hp more than my 450. But it also makes its power at 6,000 RPM vs the 8,500 on my Honda.
I kinda like the Street Bob. Its not crazy expensive either.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this. -
883/1200 power to weight ratio is pretty good. I'm a stripped down bike guy. Current ride is a 08 Street Bob. 96ci motor. Probably the most reliable bike I've ever had. Not exactly stock, but with a header it runs hot. Like melt your leg at stop light in summer. Rides great solo, horrible ride for most passengers. I'm not getting rid of that anytime soon. Just replaced my passanger and have less complaints. You will enjoy the low end torque. Now a 919, or 954 honda sport bike, you will enjoy the high end.singlescrewshaker, cke, AModelCat and 2 others Thank this.

Was a good day. Billy was wrong with this picture. We cooked a private party first, this was sold preorder and walk up. Time for a bigger wagon next.Last edited: Feb 11, 2024
Reason for edit: I can't clearly for a thought.singlescrewshaker, Sons Hero, cke and 8 others Thank this. -
I had a 883 for about 7 years. Bought it new back in 2013. It was a fine bike for running around the city and twisty roads. It was very much not a highway cruiser. It can totally do the speed limit but they only have a 5 speed and it is wound out at 5k RPM in 5th gear to do 75mph. If that bike had a 6th gear it would've been much better.
Sold it to buy my current ninja 650 which is so much better on the highway. I'm also more comfortable on a sport bike.singlescrewshaker, jamespmack, cke and 4 others Thank this. -
They are pretty reliable, according to the few I know that have or had them. Not a speed bike. There are quite a few “kits” for them to make them go a bit better.singlescrewshaker, jamespmack, cke and 3 others Thank this.

My boss is a big into bikes, he said the same thing about them.
I'm not into speed. I ride for scenery. My little 450 has no problems keeping up with the flow of traffic, I'm sure an 883 will do everything I need it to.CAXPT, singlescrewshaker, jamespmack and 2 others Thank this. -
About the same time the deer hit @OLDSKOOLERnWV one hit me too.
Mine was driving a 3' long fluorescent yellow concrete barrier and took off before I could get his insurance info.
We'll see how it turns out, and if have to paint the rest of the truck to match, or if I say screw it and end up wrapping the whole thing in vinyl lol.Tug Toy, CAXPT, singlescrewshaker and 9 others Thank this. -
