    You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get a reasonable return in performance.
    Cam kits, a better exhaust and carb or throttle body ( depending on year) maybe an ignition module. At one time, that might have been about $500.00 usd. Today, no idea.

    The old Ironheads were less than 1200. Had my Ironhead on the rear wheel many times, stout little bikes.

    Changing the 4 camshafts along with some carb work and a good ignition system, they will get along nicely and be dependable. I myself was always fond of the Crane Hi-4 setup….

    Running points and condenser setups, I always worked with it to get the points synchronized on both cylinders. Takes some doing but it can be done…..

    Exactly. My experience mostly older Hondas. Finding someone that can tune and balance a multi carb set up was night/day difference. Factory exhaust is very restricted. Open up the exhaust and step up about 2 jet sizes made a big difference.
