How long will a flat tarp last in the Arizona Sun I live Tucson. I wanted to get a small one to protect my soft top on my Jeep. When I am on the road the to top just bakes in the sun.
I run dry van, I have no experience with those tarps. They look very durable though. Most car covers last about 6 months to a year before they're destroyed by the sun.
I was looking at this one.

It varies. Ive gotten two from the same brand and one lasted 2 years. one lasted 3 months. That said tarping is not always a good idea it can trap dirt between itself and the paint and cause it to rub and chip. If it rains it CAN trap moisture and cause rusting and in extreme cases can cause damage directly to the vehicle in high winds.
Best bet to store a care safely and what i do generally is to get a solar battery maintainer and pop that on. Then use the sun shades on all windows to protect the interior. Also dont keep more then 20-30% fuel in it if you stay out for more then 6 weeks at a time. This way your less likely to have fuel go "off" from sitting. Ive had diesel go bad in my ram because i didnt drive it enough and didnt need to add any for almost a year.
Also put rodent poison in the engine bay and repellent in the interior. And change it every time your home. Also to protect your soft top, they sell silicone sprays that do a great job. The one on my buddys jeep looks new even 20 years later and he just uses whatever is on sale. -
Cool thank you.
