Other than getting smacked in the face with an airbag, he was ok. I'm sure he's got to be feeling a little sore tonight though. I would guess he was doing 70-80, and found the brakes about 35 feet from impact. I felt it a lot more than I thought I was going to. Joked with the boss that it was almost as bad as I-70 in Indiana.cke, TX2Day, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 15 others Thank this.

His reason/excuse for not seeing me had a tiny bit of credibility. The road sweeps left before my driveway, and oncoming traffic impairs visibility ahead in the left lane There was a long line of oncoming traffic, thus why I was stopped, waiting to turn left. A RGN followed by a coal bucket "hid me" from him. Now that's pretty much where valid defense ends. This is the first of 2 "truck lanes" where you can freely pass in a 15-20 mile span, so everyone hits the left lane and hammers like hell to be first at the next town's red lights. He was in the hammer lane to pass a big truck doing what everyone does and going too fast for conditions, only he couldn't see in front of his nose and his nose found the airbag that found my ICC bar. My left mirror camera caught it pretty good, and I'm pretty confident estimating his speed. He probably got it down to somewhere around 45-55 at impact, but that's a guess since he disappeared from the camera view several frames before impact.
The front yard has seen it's share of mayhem, but this is the first I was a part of.
Last fatality was 2012.
Almost every year around Christmas my mailboxes seem to narrowly escape destruction.
And sometimes it's just a flip-floppers first time seeing snow.
