I took mine apart and put in fresh grease to make sure it didn’t seize.

That blue coating is basically like teflon but heavier if it’s torn it’s because there is excessive wear in the splines
You have 2 options 1 grease or anti seize the slip joint and run it till it tears things up which might be next week or 10 years
