It's less work to inspect trucks in good shape.

 

The old Kenworth Catfish. Peterbilt made the football helmet in the early 90, and the Catfish came out in the late 90s. That truck looks like an old Swift owner op rig.

 

His best option would have been had you go straight to the Scrap Metal Yard...

 

Finally made it to the home twenty last night about 930pm. This truck is in rough shape. The shaking from the front tires and the rattletrap interior drove me nuts but I made it. I put all of my dirty clothes in plastic bags so they didn't touch anything in the sleeper. I took a shower yesterday morning and after I showered my skin still smelled like the inside of the truck and it's a funky cigarette smell.

This guy smoked with the windows up and he ashed everywhere. I used two bottles of truck stop orange cleaner and a full bottle of Odo-Ban and it still smells wretched. I think I am going to remove the interior for some steam cleaning on the leather and the rubber floor and carpet. Heck, I'm going to steam clean everything because it could be a really nice truck.

 

That's a truck built for work! Tridrive?

 

Pretty nice color scheme. Just saying.

 

It is a tri-drive with lockers in each diff and it actually pretty highway friendly with a 3.90 gear and 11R/24.5's. It runs along at 65mph at 1500rpm and 70mph at 1675rpm.

I originally tried to get the truck by itself without the trailer. I mistyped the year model yesterday because it's actually a 2015 with 391,XXX miles on the odometer. The only way I could get it was to do it as a package deal.

 

What was wrong with it and how did he find you?

 

They've got some wild pulling power when fully locked up. My old man owned a couple tridrive T8's at one time. They do tend to scrub tires on turns worse than a tandem. Seems like the rear drive gets it worse.

A little TLC and that truck will look awesome.

 

Freind called me who has a truck shop, wanted to know if I was available and what I would charge. I had to set the 5th wrecker on so took me a little bit to get there….
