Its the best one out there for truck concerns, hazmat routing, low-bridges, weight restrictions.

I am going to be shelling out for it this week. Already have the bluetooth GPS receiver on the way too.

Make sure you get one with the Sirf III chipset, much more accurate and sensitive in low signal areas. Mine is the Holux 236 bluetooth, with an optional external antenna.

I am just looking for any promotional codes for it to drop the price down. Did a google search, but the ones I found werent current when I went to checkout at the ALK site.

I have great respect for the professional's out there, and their opinion on the necessities that make trucking just a bit easier. I have been looking to have my cake and eat it too... I want to find a pocket PC that provides internet capability, can be used with co-pilot, touchscreen, and with good visibility so you don't hit the snooze bumps on the side of the road while trying to find your way... Any suggestions!!!

We just bought a Dell Axiom. It's suppose to be Co-Pilot compatible, but we haven't loaded it yet. Actually the only thing I've done ith it is play Bubble Ball on it :) But I will let you know as I know.

Once you have Co-Pilot if you ever need to upgrade its only 149.00. The gps receiver alone is like 100.00 so we usually upgrade the whole thing.

Absolutely!! Have had mine for a little over a year now and it has helped me find quite a few rinky dink places (where street signs dont exist) in big cities. :thumbleft:

Ok, loaded the Co-Pilot for Pocket PC with Bluetooth receiver onto the Dell Axim and it works great. Had to buy a 2 GB SD card in order to load the North America maps. But that was only 60.00 at Wallyworld.

Mounted it on the dash next to the brakes. Fits perfectly. It also has all the features that the laptop had.

    Highly recommend.

Ive got an Axim, actually 2, the 5 and the 30, but i use GPS from a lartop.
Question, on the PPC, is it as easy to follow as it is on a laptop screen, getting old, eyes arent what they used to be. As for the PPC altogether, for a long time, I have been saying it is a viable replacement for a laptop, as long as you are not into gaming. If I could get a decent GPS on my PPC, I could leave the laptop home again

In answer to your question: Yep, it's as easy to follow. Before we loaded it I thought the screen might be too small but I haven't found it to be a problem. And I understand about "old eyes" :)

I have one of these, you can use google maps with it as long as you have a cell signal. You can also install Delorme on it or M$ Streets and Trips
