Wait till someone else scratches your truck, they will send you down the road anyway. Probably didn't park it right. :biggrin_25523: Pride comes before a fall.. It was one thing to be fired for a benign incident, but Marten has to slam your DAC too, which speaks volumes about the ethics of a company. If they expect such perfection, why do they hire drivers with only 6 months experience? I'm still learning a lot out here with almost 1.5 years.

Unlike you, I'm humble enough to seek advice and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism from more seasoned drivers. Most are happy to give it. I can spot a super trucker like you a mile off and wouldn't give you the time of the day, or place any value on what you have to say.

Once again I should be offended. Then I remember that you're still trying to figure out which way is up and would have no idea when a real trucker passed you. Go where I have gone and do what I have done and then maybe, Just maybe I will care what you think.

Flatbed, you are the type of trucker I seek out and appreciate anything you have to offer. Most of the drivers with your experience are humble and helpful if they are shown respect and appreciation. I try to pay it forward by flashing drivers in, spotting them in tight spaces ect. I fixed a drivers Prostar driver door with extra weather stripping last week, and refused his offer of money. This is not to brag, if I have something to help someone else with, I'm happy to do it.

I have mentored others in previous occupations and those that I taught always wanted me because I was encouraging, not arrogant or impatient, which put them at ease.
Thank goodness this world is not full of Kabar's! He brings nothing to the table but self-importance and arrogance.

Believe me Kabar, I really don't care what you think.

I don't really have an issue with Marten myself, I just got in the middle of this discussion because mr pompous red font feels like he has the franchise on trucking experience and knowledge. Couldn't let that go unchallenged. :biggrin_25522:

I have a friend there that is getting good miles since August last year. It's a good company for him, didn't work out for me. That's my stance on Marten. I'm certainly not going to try to discredit what others have to say, I wasn't there..

ok kabar I have read your constant bashing towards others that is not kissing mr marten's butt, like yourself. I dont know how long you have been a driver, and the looks of your profile, not long. If you would stop showing your idiocracy towards everbody on your so-called marten logic, then you might just see what everbody is talking about. Marten's F/Ms might be giving some of the drivers the miles, but its the upper management, and we're talking "top dog" included. (thats owner if explanation's needed) that is destroying the company and the drivers just have to sit back and ride it out, thats if they dont get terminated first. The management is not looking for the "SUPERTRUCKER" like yourself, they're just looking for another kid on the block to throw in there truck to get the government kickback. So whatever you say is saying your either with management or with driver. you make the call.

Well you must have read the profile like you read the post, not very well. It clearly says I've been driving for 18 years. In that time I have driven for a company or two and studied the way they are run. I read every thing I can on the industry so I have a fair idea on what I am taking about. I know a good company when I see one (Marten) and a bad one when I see it (CRE). Now I'm not saying Marten is perfect. They do a few things I don't like. But there are 2 things you have to realize. 1: There is no perfect company. They all have good and bad. You just have to find one where the good out weighs the bad. That will be different for each driver. For me the bad at Marten , per-diem - putting loads on the train, is out weighed by far with the good, the kind of truck I want to drive that is well maintained, good miles, getting home on time every time, the ability to run the truck my way with out being told what routs to take and where/when to fuel. These are the things that are important to me. The per-diem, I think is stupid. But I can work around it. Putting loads on trains, I think it's a slap in the face of drivers. IF you can name one other refer company that has a choice on what trucks you get, Gets you the miles and gets you home on time. Lets you decide what routs to run and where/when to fuel then I will look into them and conceder quiting Marten. 2: When you work for some one else you get to do it there way. they own the truck, They hire you to drive the truck. If you don't like it own your own truck and then you can be the butt head who makes all the bad decisions.

As for being for mng or the drivers. Well I'm for me. Management forgets who makes the money and 80% of drivers are idiots. I talk to very few of them and hang out with none of them. The best thing about this job is I have limited contact with the stupid human race.
